The managers I had did a good job encouraging me and answering questions when they had time to answer my questions. So many calls coming in at once every day was very tiring and stressful in the long term, so I wound up getting burnout quickly. Customers were constantly calling especially during the summer months so we are constantly busy. Unfortunately, RA's were often busy so I would wait for 5-10 minutes trying to get ahold of an RA, causing the call to be longer than needed. It took me about a month before I truly was comfortable on the phone, and during my time I had to constantly ask Resolution Agent questions. The company trained me for about a week before putting me on the phone. Every day, my job was to answer calls and help customers to schedule delivery/ pick up of containers and answer any questions the customer may have regarding the container. I worked at the company as a Customer Service Representative for roughly 1 year. I started work in 2020, shortly before the Covid-19 lockdown. Remember this is SAN ANTONIO TX LOCATION.ĭONT WORK HERE! So now you have to hold on your plans now.

Customers will harass you even though you're out of work. *you have to use you're own phone even though the other locations have company phones. *you're forced to help austin cause austin is the same way Management will put you on the spot infront of other employees instead of talking to you in private. You'll be told that your eligible for a raise after 3 months, but that's just to hook you in. You can't really plan you're day aswell cause there's a big chance that the manager didn't prep your schedule.ĭon't even try asking for a day off unless you wanna feel dumb for trying. It's an easy job, but the lack of leadership and management really takes a toll.Įxample the routes may or may not be ready for you in the morning. The longest employee working there was just over 1 yr. Probably one If not the most unorganized jobs I've ever had. Communication also did not happen very effectively between supervisors and agents - more. On top of this, equipment (forklifts, trucks) broke down a lot at local facilities and service would get a high volume of calls with complaints and angry or dissatisfied customers. This likely was a result of having 1 call center for the nation, so the level of inbound service calls were always more than the company had agents to answer. The call center simply did not appear to meet the demands of each “busy season” in the summer. This also includes how service and facilities communicated to each other (simply lack of timely updates). This level of poor communication (or simply a lack thereof) extended all the way from how the company communicated (or lack there of) important information to customers (like if something is delayed and we have to reschedule a customer). A criticism I have though of Pack Rat is that overall while working here is that I never felt like our departments had good communication with each other. If you can stick with it at first you will eventually grow more confident on the phone with customers (who can be quite rude and mean sometimes, but not all of them thankfully). Even working as a part time customer service agent, then been promoted to a Resolution Supervisor, the pay was good. First off, the pay was nicely competitive compared to most other entry level positions. I’ve been at Pack-Rat for about 3 years now and I am thankful to have the job and opportunity, while in grad school, it hasn’t been without issues, and its ups and downs.
